EXPERIMENTS IN PSYCHOLOGY
In the School of Psychology and Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Glasgow, we rely on the people of Glasgow and beyond in order to pursue our various research interests. For this reason we have set up this website which allows members of the public to register their details and take part in our studies.
Registering as a participant using the link below will allow you to view all the studies currently running and the tasks you will be required to perform should you decide to participate. You will be able to book your participation by requesting a time or by choosing from available time slots at a time which suits you.
We are mainly running simple behavioural experiments that only require you to respond to stimuli on a computer screen, but we also have state of the art scanning facilities where we run experiments while scanning the signal activity within your brain using fMRI, MEG and TMS technologies. You will be informed about those technologies when you register and you will be able to decide if you wish to take part in those or if you would rather prefer to only run behavioural experiments.
The standard rate for participation is £6 per hour, however where brain-scanning is involved the rate of pay could be much higher.
Please feel free to browse our staff pages so that you might get a feel for the kind of questions our researchers are interested in.
